This part of South Bohemia has preserved its original and natural raw beauty. Unlike other more visited areas of the region (e.i. Šumava..) Novohradsko has not still become a mass tourism target. However, this lower level of relative attractiveness of the area is its great value. Our region will be a true paradise for those who long for real peace, quiet and romantic tracks for both hiking and cycling alongside the erstwhile Iron Curtain line. Nevertheless, naturally pictoresque landscape and the fact one might meet “not a single living soul“ during all-day long hiking in the woods of Novohradské hory is not by far the only advantage of this region. On the contrary our accommodation is located in the area that is full of a cultural and historical heritage (castles, chateaus, ruins of castles, monasteries etc.), holiday and standard facilities (restaurants, swimming pools, skiing resorts, cycle routes etc.). The Cottage in Svata Trojice is an ideal self-catering base for exploring all these sights. And what is more, traditional geographical and nowadays fortunately also political unlimited closeness to the Low Austrian region Waldviertel makes this borderland even more attractive and offers many more possibilities where to plan a trip.
Just 1km far from our cottage, this small town offers a basic net of standard facilities and services. There is an office of Czech Post, two banks (3 ATMs, 1 is of GE Money Bank), health care centre, 2 farmacies, both smaller shops and supermarkets (Terno), several restaurants, Fitness centre, public library etc. The town is linked to South Bohemia metropolis České Budějovice thanks to a regular public coach transport provided by ČSAD Jihotrans a.s., this company also runs special lines for transport of cyclists during summer months.

České Budějovice is an economic and cultural capital of South Bohemia. The town is situated in the lovely countryside at the confluence of the rivers Vltava and Malše. Thanks to this location and the beauty of its historical centre (founded in 1265) called the Czech writer Jan Neruda Budejovice Czech Florence. There are a number of notable landmarks. City Center Square is an unique urban reservation area and experts say if there had been no town hall decision about demolition of its original curtain wals and medieval fortifications, Budějovice would be like famous French Carcassone today. Neverthelles, at least world-wide famed town brewery Budweiser (founded 1895) and its precious product – beer mark Budweiser Budvar – have preserved and alongside with Pilsener Urquell is one the most icons of the whole country too.
